John Travis is a seasoned consultant specializing in the convergence of health information technology (HIT) and federal regulations. With a wealth of expertise, he advises on how HIT can facilitate provider compliance with regulatory mandates from key agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including CMS, ONC, OIG, HHS/OCR, and SAMHSA.

Formerly overseeing Oracle Cerner’s Product Regulatory Strategy team, John spearheaded efforts to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing the use of HIT. He successfully led the certification of Oracle Cerner’s EHR products under ONC’s HIT certification program, including updates mandated by the 21st Century Cures Act.

He provided expert guidance on leveraging product features to enable client compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation and The Joint Commission’s accreditation standards.
