TO MENTAL HEALTH BREAKTHROUGH”
Inspired by personal struggles and profound self-discovery, our pledge is driven by our founder’s own experience with a stutter, a manifestation of childhood trauma and a loss of a dear friend to gun violence. We are committed to addressing burnout, domestic violence, gun violence and childhood trauma through storytelling and technology.
Partnering with the University of Kansas Health System, our research seeks to combat burnout and enhance quality of life. Our ultimate goal is to pass an Age-Appropriate Mental Health Education Act in Missouri and Kansas, ensuring accessible support for all.
About
In our mission to promote mental health awareness and foster community connections, we have organized an extensive series of mental health tours spanning across the United States. Through these tours, we aim to raise awareness about mental health and engage with communities nationwide using our innovative Mental Health Starter Kits.
By collaborating directly with various businesses throughout the country, we bring our programs into their establishments, inviting their customers to participate in educational sessions on mental health, meet therapists, and explore avenues for accessing care through creative outlets such as music, art, and authentic expressions. As a token of empowerment, each attendee receives a mental health starter kit to support their well-being beyond the event.
Why
Vision
Our vision entails embarking on a transformative journey across the United States, employing art, music, and dance as powerful tools to introduce and expand the reach of the Freedom Project. This nationwide tour will serve as a pivotal strategy to raise awareness and foster growth.
The tour will feature two distinct projects: the Listening Series and the T-Rex Walk. Both initiatives are designed to prioritize community engagement and foster intentional conversations. Through these endeavors, we aim to create meaningful connections, initiate dialogue, and facilitate positive change in communities throughout the nation.
Creative Mental Health Education through our Curriculum: 'FEM'
F.E.M Education, standing for ‘Fostering Emotional Maturity,’ is a K-12 curriculum aimed at developing emotional intelligence, resilience, and social skills in students for life’s challenges.
Nationwide Project Specifics & Goals
Our projects were designed to be intimate and authentic. We create a space for people to come in and share their stories and have mental health professionals moderating the conversation. Each individual registered for the event receives a Freedom Project mental health starter kit presented by our associated healthcare partners.
